Hi it's me again...I let my almost 3 month old baby sleep on her tummy during the day, this is the best way I know to let her sleep so I can also do some house work...Is this okay? Is this safe? Thanks.

As long as you keep an eye on her.

And also keep everything away from her. I never felt comfortable keeping my baby on his/her stomach because I was always scared that they where going to stop breathing or something, because they are so small they dont know how to turn there heads if they cant breath. Please just make sure that you are right there with your child

My daughter is now 8 months old, but ever since I brought her home from the hospital she has slept on her tummy. She would not sleep on her back...I tried to have her sleep on her back the first few nights but she woke me up none stop. As soon as I started putting her on her tummy she would sleep alot longer. I think it is perfectly fine to let your baby sleep on her tummy...As long as you don't have any toys or pillows in the bed with her. She will be fine. Also you should get one of those tv monitors if you are worried about her sleeping on her tummy. I have one and I love it!

sometimes babies aren't fine on their tummies even under ideal conditions (no toys or pillows, etc). There are many things that play into sids. Just be careful. You wouldn't be able to live with yourself if something were to happen. Sids is very real.

Twenty years ago everyone laid their babies on their stomachs or sides. It was generally accepted that this was the least risky position to sleep on, and obviously everyone in my generation isn't dead.
The fact of the matter is, no one knows what causes sids, at least not definitively. They know what can increase the chances of it, but thus far there is no conclusive evidence of cause.
When my son was born, I was so bombarded with sids this and sids that and I was terrified all the time that if I made one wrong move he would die.
The point is, sids is a very real and very serious thing. But it's also a very rare occurance. It should be taken seriously, and you should be careful, take precautions, watch carefully. But every baby is different, some prefer to sleep on their stomachs, some on their backs. Some sleep on their sides (as mine always has).
If it's daytime and you're keeping a watchful eye, by all means do what you feel is best. The best advice I can think of to give any new mother is relax, enjoy, trust your gut. You love your baby, you will know what's best for her, because she is unique.
Take care. :)

For 3 months my son has slept on his stomach. I'ts the only way I can get him to sleep and he'll sleep more than 5 minutes. If he's on his back he wakes right up. Or if he's on his belly and rolls over, he'll let you hear it. If that's how your child likes to sleep, I say let them. My child has also had a really strong neck since birth...And he's now more and more moving his head around and knows better. Babies aren't stupid or anything, but some just don't have the strenght. I say if that's how your child wants to sleep, let them. :)
