Should I Worry??
Posted: 02-18-05 12:27pm

Last night I was out at dinner, and all of a sudden I started to get really light headed and sick feeling. I had like tunnel vision and felt like I was going to fall asleep right at the table!! I got all white and sweaty, and I couldn't tell if I was having hot flashes or cold sweats!! It felt like my heart was racing and I couldn't catch my breath.....

Has anyone ever gotten like that?? Is it due to being pregnant?? Should I worry??

It sounds like either a low blood sugar reaction or a dehydration reaction.

Both blood sugars and fluid balances get out of whack during pregnancy. Mention it to your ob at next visit. There is no immediate danger, but watch out when driving or hanging out at the top of ladders and such until next visit. As long as you are close to a place where you can sit down if it reoccurs, you are fine, though most likely it was an isolated incidence.

It also won't harm to have a bit of chocolate or a sprite/7-up on hand for fast blood sugar if it happens again.

lol please don't hang out at the top of a ladder brianbaby... I'm hypoglycemic and I get dizzy now and then, but steen is right, something with a lil sugar helps.. A little though.. :)

That happens to me too sometimes but then I drink a glass or 2 of orange juice and it usually makes me feel better
