I am 38 years of age and almost died from
endocarditis. I had no history of
problems with my heart. My mitral valve
ruptured and I now have a valve replaced.
Is my life expectancy the same as if this
had never happened to me. Is there a
support group anywhere for people who have
had endocarditis
Endocarditis can be due to bacterial
infection or febris reumatica. Your life
expectancy can be the same if you
regularly use antibiotic prophylaxis for
preventing another endocarditis.
