Is it true that doctors offices dont do
blood tests to check for pregnancy
anymore??? ... I just called my doctors
office and asked for a blood test since I
am more then 2 weeks late.. Well anyways
she was like we dont do blood tests to
confirm pregnancies anymore.. The regular
tests work the same so just go take one..
I was like I already took 3 and they were
negative.. So was like well I dontk now
what to tell ya then .. Give it some more
time and then give me a call back!!! What
the *%$??? So I guess I have no choice
but to wait.. I guess they only do blood
tests to check is the levels are dropping
when someones far along in their
pregnancy.. But to find out if you're
pregnant they dont do blood tests
anymore.. Is this true or my doc gave me
a bunch of bull?.... Im so mad right
now....

Im not sure where you live or if its
different there but I know from past
experiences with friends and stuff that
doctors down here dont use blood tests to
see if ur pregnant...I had a friend go to
the doctors for a check up cuz she was on
the pill and they feel ur stomach and
boobs and stuff ya know lol and he said he
thought she mite be pregnant and sent her
home to do a test... Altho, I believe if
u are very late.. Like a month or 2 and u
go to the doctors they would be able to
give u a answer... Its so stupid..

I work for an ob/gyn office and we still
do them - we do blood tests and urine
tests. Maybe you should try a different
doctors office.

Lol.. Its stupid I agree.. But I guess
the regular tests work sooo good
(according to me doc) that that they are
considered even more accurate than a blood
test. Hmmm.......

My doctor wouldn't do one for my friend
she said the exact same thing. The urine
tests work just as well and my friend
keeps getting a negative on those. I
guess you can just wait it out. I only
got one b/c I went to my regular doc to
test and see if I was anemic. Try your
regular doc

Just curious....What did the doc feel to
make him think she was preg? I would
think she'd have to be pretty far along
for him to feel anything in her tummy!
Maybe i'm wrong though, lol, no experience
there so I wouldn't really know..

Hey girl I feel the same way you do I
have had 2 dr tests done and both came
back negitive and I have asked 2 times for
a blood and he told me he won't do it
because a blood test will only tell him if
the pregnacy is good enough to keep it
going or if it's a bad one ( I don't know
)
well I have been feeling sick everyday all
day and stuff like that and I have that
light brown line that goese from your
crotch up to your belly that usally means
you are pregnant
but yeah it sucks
jenn

conclusion that it was possible she could
be pregnant.. But I know every 6 months
when I go into the dr's for my check up
they kinda push on ur stomach, use the
stetha scope thing.. And they examine ur
boobs nd stuff.. But they do alot of
checking ur stomach.. I dunno.. Maybe
they can tell?

What is the best kind of hpt? Should you
use more than one to be sure? How
accurate are they?

Hey girls its me again  ... Any
updates from the girls who thought they
were pregnant? As for me.. Still not
period. I dont wanna test again cuz im
wasting so much money and my doc wont give
me a blood test like I already mentioned.
She told me to wait until my next missed
period which is coming up in about 7 days
and then she wants me to come in and see
her. If anything.. Ill go to a
parenthood clinic or something..

Im not sure but with my other pregnancy I
bought accuclear.. Or something like
that. It was the one where you can test
like 4 days before your missed period.
Well I took it 2 days before my missed
period and it was a very faint positive..
Read the backs and buy the one that can
detect as little as 25 mg.. That one will
show even before a missed period in like
97% of girls.. Good luck

taking place, called like diagnostic
labratory or something like that. Maybe
you have one of those around.

Blood tests are **much more***accurate
than urine tests, dont' let anyone tell
you different. Blood detects hpt period.
There is no hiding it with a blood test.
There is with urine test. There are
false negatives all the time. I'll give
you a personal story:
i'm 27 weeks pregnant. On 9/10/04 I went
to the doctor to get a urine test after
getting a negative and positive at home.
I wanted clarity and decided to get a
doctor's opinion. The urine test read
negative. I was convinced I was pregnant
so minutes later I told them to take the
blood test. 3 days later results came
back positive, I was pregnant. And that
blood test was taken about 5 minutes after
my negative. I do not fully trust uine
tests, there is too much room for error
despite the "99%" effectiveness they
claim!
See a different doc and ease your mind
hun! Get the blood test and good
luck! |
my doctor wouldn't do a blood test on me
either so I called my regular doctor b/c I
was convinced I was too pregnant. I got
one positive and 1 negative. Then I took
the blood test and got a huge positive. I
am now 21 weeks pregnant. I don't trust
urine tests either b/c of that.
