Broke My Ankle 10 Years Ago. Having Problems With It Now. Posted: 02-21-05 18:22pm
I broke my ankle at the joint 10 years
ago. It was wired to hold the joint
together and it took almost 2 years to
heal. Now my ankle is collapsing and I
have authritis in it real bad. The Dr.
Put me in a brace that has bars up the
side and a leather sleeve that goes around
the calf with a t strap to hold the ankle
in place. This is designed to keep the
wieght off of my ankle and keep it as
straite as possible. Of course now I am
having problems with my hips and my back.
He mentioned that I could have it fused.
Is their another alternative to fusing and
if fusing is the only alternative then
what will it involve and will it cause
other complications?
