Q: Did Anyone Do the Tempature Thing?

My husband and I have been ttc for 6 months now and I am getting frustrated. This month I decided I was going to take my tempature since I knew that my periods were regular and came about every 28-29 days. From the day my period ended it was about 97.1 first thing in the morning. (i am using just a regular thermometer in the mouth) on tuesday it was 97.5 so my husband and I had sex that day and the day after. (we also had sex on sunday night) he pounched on me while I was trying to make the bed after doing the laundry) anyways I have been taking my temp since then and it has gone back down to 97.1. I read somewhere that you temp would stay up till you next period and if you were pregnant it would stay up a bit higher.
(put the pillow under the bum and stayed that way for about 1/2 hour or so)

am I just reading into things or what?

I found this:

if conception did occur some women notice a second increase in temperatures about the time implantation occurs, 6 days after ovulation. When this happens it is called a triphasic pattern. This doesn't happen for everyone who conceives but it does happen for some.

by keeping a chart of your basal body temperature you can keep tract of your temperature changes and pinpoint the time for ovulation. The basal body temperature (bbt) will fall abruptly one to two days prior to ovulation. At that time your bbt will be ranging from 97.0 to about 97.5 degrees. When you ovulate, hormonal changes trigger a rise of between 0.5 and 1.6 degrees. This rise will lasts until your next period unless you get pregnant. You may notice your temperature spiking on other days too, but unless it stays that way, you are probably not ovulating. You are most fertile the day of, and the few days preceding, the spike. Although some fertility experts say may still get pregnant if you sexual intercourse within 12 to 24 hours after the temperature shift. Your temperature will drop right before starting your period if you are not pregnant. If you become pregnant, your temperature will stay elevated throughout the pregnancy.

So my temp was 97.5 on tuesday and wednesday when we had sex. Now it is 97.1. I guess I should just watch it for the rest of my cycle and see what happens. I so what a child and my husband and friends think that I am obsessed with reading everything.

I am trying not to stress but I am 31 going on 32 in september and want to get started with the family thing

Well, it did say it could spike up like 6 days after conception or something, so you have a couple more days before that.
