Many "early" tests can be taken 4 days before your period is expected, or 10 days after sex. However, at this point the tests are only about 70% accurate. To get a good reading wait (i know how horrible that sounds when all you can think is "am I preg", but it's best to try!)

I took a test and i'm not pregnant yet my period was still very late. However, I started my period this morning, which is a good and a bad thing. Oh well. Thanks for the help though.

Catt........ That is strange indeed........ Mine was 2 weeks late when the doc. Did a test and it showed neg. Then he put me on meds to get a period, now I am a day late wonder if it will be pg this time. I did not tell my husband that I am late, the last time we both had built up hopes, I will just surprise him with the results, if it comes to that........

Yes. Unfortunately, I am not pregnant. However, I was late by a bit and got my period just in time for my wedding on saturday. Well it would figure wouldn't it? Now if that isn't a lesson not to stress before your wedding I don't know what else is. Thanks for the help though. On another note, does anyone know if jessymin (sorry about the spelling) had her baby?

It depends on the type of test you take....
I tested 2 days before my period was suppose to start and it was a very very very light positive. I was not sure so I took another the next and it was darker..

But I would say just wait until at least a day before your period should start and that should give you accurate results
