I'm a 25 y.O. Guy from israel. I've been
suffering from tn for the past 6 years.
It first appeared after a second surgery I
undergone for my right frontal sinusitis.
In the last year i've undergone two more
operations in the same sinus (altogether
i've undergone 4 operations). In the past
few months i've been suffering from
enormous pain, and my tn has passed to my
left side as well. I suffer from pain
attacks in all my branches, and i'm at a
point in which the attacks appear every
few minutes (at my good days I have an
attack every couple of hours or so). I
don't sleep well, I can hardly go out. I
work the minimum I can, and try to work as
much as I can from home. I also had to
quit my uni studies, and I truly fear
about my future. When I first was
diagnosed with tn I read on a web site
that some people commit suicide because
they can't stand the pain. In the past
few weeks i, for the first time, can
relate to that degree of desperations.
Though I don't have suicidal tendencies, I
sometimes think that this would be the
only way to stop the pain.
I recently started going to a pain clinic,
and tried again all sorts of pain killers,
including psychoactive drugs (elatrolet),
a drug which is similar to viox (arcoxia -
it's still approved) and tramal
(tramadex), with no improvment whatsoever.
I've also had some iv treatment which
wasn't a big help either.
Next week i'm about to start a course of
treatments of mesotherapy. Has anyone
here tried it? Do you have any relevant
information?
My next step is to get an injection that's
supposed to "kill" the nerve (or let it
sleep for a while...). Has anyone tried
that?
Any suggestions or thoughts would be very
helpful.
Thanks,
roy
