I hope you can keep your gallbladder.
It's not very comfortable living without
one.

recurrent gallbladder pain after surgical removal Posted: 03-13-08 21:35pm
I had my gallbladder out 4yrs ago and a
few months later started with the same
attacks, just like before i had my
surgery.
It caused my liver enzymes to elevate and
i was hospitalized on two different
occasions and had Ercp both times.
They said that my spincter was too small
so the dialated it both times.
Even after this which was 2 years ago i
still on occasion get the pain.
It feels like something explodes inside ,
I can't breath or stand straight it only
lasts a few minutes thank god, but then
aches like i have been kicked.
Its the same area as before rt. upper
quadrant and burning between the shoulder
blades.
I have been to numerous GI drs. and the
last one asked if i was depressed and not
really sick !!!! I wish i knew what to do
because its very frustrating and scary at
times.
Anyone out there have any ideas??

gallbladder surgery and only problems head of me Posted: 04-21-08 23:57pm
After reading so many posts about pain
after gallbladder surgery. I wonder if I
should of had mine removed now. Mine was
disfunctional (proven by a nuc. function
test/ hida scan). I had pain in upper
right abdomen and in my back. It has been
1 year last Feb. and the pain is back. I
had ultrasounds ,xrays, and nuclear liver
and spleen tests done one month ago to
find my liver is enlarged. I was told to
not us tylenol etc and to avoid large
consumptions of alcohol. I DON"t take
tylenol and hardly ever drink so why would
this help me? Now I am having coughing
spells that produce nausea and vomiting
sometimes.. My throat gets a dry pinching
feeling then I produce phlyem. My upper
right abdomen gets spasmic
sometimes...feels like a baby kicking
lightly and fast. I am not pregnant.
I have small bouts of hard stools, then
like clock work bouts of diarreha (usualy
4 in the same day or more) It accompanies
wretching pain until the diarreha is over.
Noone tells you about these symptoms after
surgery. My gallbladder doc who did the
surgery told me to go to my reg. Dr.
Seems he'd be fixing the problem not my
reg Dr. since he is the specialist!
Anyway I go back after 3 months ..probably
for more tests to see if the liver is
sti;ll enlarged. It seems I have a
endoscopy done? But I have never had one.
Any suggestions!!

I AM 24 YEARS OLD. I JUST HAD MY
GALLBLADDER REMOVED 2 WEEKS AGO. I AM
HAVING SOME PAIN IN MY RIGHT SIDE AFTER I
LIFT OR BEND. I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS
NORMAL OR IF MAYBE I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO
DO TOO MUCH TOO EARLY AFTER HAVING THE
SURGERY? I GO BACK TO THE DOCTOR ON THE
9TH OF THIS MONTH.

I had my gallbladder removed 4 months ago.
This was going to be an out in 24 hours
surgery. I was in the hospital for 10
days. After the gb was removed they put a
stint in my bile duct. Instead of the
stint going all the way up to the liver
like it should the stint went into the
little nub were the gb attached to the
bile duct. I lay in the hospital for 5
days in pain that can't be conveyed in
words. The genus doctors did not know
what to do so I was shipped out of that
hospital to another by the dark of night.
When the other hospital got it right I was
out in a couple of days. I have been
tender in that area ever since. 3 days
ago the pain has now come back. I get to
go to another GI doctor. IMHO Doctors
think they know it all but some of them
are clueless. Don't hesitate to fire a
doctor they work for you and should work
with you. They are not god and never will
be. It gets frustating going to different
doctors but once you find one that will
actually listen to you it makes all the
difference in the world. Sorry to carry on
for so long but I've been dealing with
this for many years and by the looks of it
I'll be dealing with this for the rest of
my life.

Now 6 weeks on above belly button is
really painfull and feels lumpy? Its the
same pain as when i first came home, I'm
having problems picking my 16 month up!!!
Also my other scars are really itchy, but
I supoose thats just where there healing.
Booked into see the nurse this morning to
see what they think.
