I have lupus and it's affected most of my
organs. This past summer I was
hospitalized for tests, one being a lymph
node biopsy to rule out lymphoma. After
the procedure I was started on iv
prednisone and imuran to try and induce
remission due to kidney involvement. I
was on the treatment approximately five
days and developed severe leg pain in my
left leg. All types of x-rays, dopplers,
etc. Were performed to determine the
cause of the pain. The dx was
rhabdomyolysis. I don't agree with this,
however, this was the dx. I developed
lymphedemia in my left leg and
consequently two leg ulcers. I have had
this condition since late august of 2004.
These wounds seep and require bandage
changes during the day. I have had
cellulitis as a result and been
hospitalized two times. I have had
several creams and ointments to apply and
given oral diuretics. If anyone has any
information regarding this I would
appreciate any input.
