Hi im 21 and I have been with my bf for
almost 2 years now and have been living
with him just over a year. Sex at first
was great and I always wanted it and wen I
cudnt I got annoyed. I was a virgin
before I met him. I seemed to have lost
the desire to have sex and its nothing to
do with him I love him dearly. Its just
I dont ever want to have sex at all!
Even if it was colin farrell! Lol I
started anti depressents for anxiety
problems a while ago but this issue was
there before I started taking them. The
only other thing is that im on microgynon
30 b.C could this be the reason if so how
come I enjoyed it and wanted it at first?
I have been on the pill years before I
met him. Please please help with any
suggestions you have its putting a real
strain on our relationship and I dont wana
loose him! Please if anyone else out
there is experiencing the same thing no
matter how small your comment please let
me know

Yes, do a quick search on the forum and
you'll find countless threads about this.
Anti-depressants are great for killing
your sex drive too. Have you changed
medication or dosages?

No I havent changed dosage or anything.
But I lost the sex drive before I went on
the anti depressants. I think it must be
the pill. I have an appointment with a
nurse on friday so hopefully she will have
some insight on it or at least maybe
change things cause im not taking anti
depressants for depression its for anxiety
so maybe ill get something else. Anyways

I tried sential pills because my low
libido is really beginning to hurt my
relationships. Now I don’t remember a
longer pause than a few days when I
didn’t make love with my boyfriend.
These pills certainly have something to do
with it.

The pill could have started making your
sex drive crash. It is odd though that
you had been on it for years before your
sex drive lowered. When your body gets
used to a certain bc pill you will have
breakthrough bleeding, cramping, etc and
will need to switch brands, but your sex
drive shouldn't be affected if it wasn't
in the beginning.
It could be your anxiety. Not
necessarily the depression/anxiety med,
but could be your anxiety in general.
Also, you could be going through a
hormonal change and just not in the mood
right now.
See what your nurse has to say and let us
know! I hope you can get through this.
P.S. If your boyfriend is the one, you
wont lose him because your sex drive
happened to go away momentarily!

Thanks for the replys! Hotasfrick I was a
virgin before I met my boyfriend and that
was at 19 but I had been on pill from 16
it was just a short time after meeting him
that it went real low. Could the sex at
first just been a new and exciting thing?
I duno well c on friday with the nurse!

Well I went to the docs and they have
changed my pill to yasmin has anyone heard
of it? I have noticed a bit of spotting
from yesterday im thinking its just the
new pill getting into my system wot use
think?

Yeah, you are probably just spotting
because you switched pills. I hope this
helps you! I have heard of yasmin, but I
haven't ever tried it. I am on the
strongest bc out there, so yasmin wouldn't
work for me!

Im also taking microgynon 30 and have lost
my sex drive totally... Iv been on the
pill for 6 years now and have never before
had a problem. Iv been with my partner
just over a year and we live together, it
was great at 1st but now hes lucky if he
gets any at all (once a month is about
it). I love him still and fancy him bot
im afraid its going to end our
relationship, any ideas wot I can do????

Talk to a pharmacist or your dr, don't
worry you can do it over the phone and
talk to the nurse if you get embarrased
but this happens to a lot of people, this
is why people pay a lot of money to go to
sex therapists. There is nothing to
really to be embarassed about. Their is
also natural products that might help but
be careful, some of them can be dangerous
if not taken correctly
