Question. This is such a simple one, and
I know it's been discussed before, but for
the life of me I cannot find the post.
How early can you take a home pregnancy
test and it be accurate? I know some of
them say as early as a week after you miss
your period, but others say later and some
say sooner. I took one when I was
pregnant with my daughter, I actually took
two, and they both turned up negative, so
i'm real skeptical, and I wanna make sure
to do it right this time before I go
spending the money on it.

Hey shoneen, how are you doing?
It is advisable to wait at least a week
after a missed period for a reliable
answer to that question, but often the
suspense is often just too much to bear!
This may be related to delayed ovulation
in that particular cycle, or because the
pregnancy test was not sensitive enough.
An early morning urine is usually most
concentrated will improve the pickup. The
earlier that pregnancy is detected, the
more miscarriages are found.
Best wishes,

I kinda have the same question. Cuz I
bought first respose and it says that 79%
of women will get a positive even if
tested 5 days before a missed period.
Well with my first pregnancy I got a faint
but positive test 1 day before my missed
period. And this time im feeling pregnant
and have really sore breasts and I tested
today which is 2 days before my missed
period and got a negative. So im gonna
wait until friday to take it again. Good
luck!!

Thanks you guys. My period isn't quite a
week late just yet. My breasts are sore
but they're normally sore a week before I
start my period. If by friday I haven't
started my period yet, then sat morning
i'm going to take a test again. I've
already taken one, first response, and of
course it was negative. I hate it to
sound like this but if early detection
leads to a miscarriage then i'll be fine
with that. I'mnot ready to have another
kid, not just yet. I love my daughter,
and I love it being just her and i, i'm
not ready to give that up. I'll keep you
all posted.

Well I am pregnant. Not that far along
though, barely along at all. Now I face
a huge decision. Keep it or not ? The
only reason I face that decision is
because I messed up and I dont know who
the dad is. It's only two different guys,
I say "only" because it could be worse,
i've heard of and seen worse. And
neither of them are talking to me at the
moment b/c of all of this. Do you know
of anyway to pinpoint exactly how far
along you are?

It is not really that easy to pipoint your
ovulation date. Your egg is viable for 72
hours after it is released. The sperm on
the other hand can be viable to implant an
egg up to 7 days after ejucalation.. You
will have to have a sonogram this is the
most accurate way of telling but it
depends on the time tolerances
(differences between unprotected
parteners) that you are working with..
