I sprained my knee almost 3 weeks ago.
There is still swelling on the inside of
the knee and I cant bend it all the way.
Does anyone know how long it takes to
heal? Also, how to tell the severity of
it besides getting an mri.

There are very few methods to finding the
true injury in the knee without using an
mri.
If it has been 3 weeks and you are
experiencing more swelling and pain, you
need to take it to the next step. Your
orthopedic doc may want to inject a
cortisteroid into the joint to see if that
will help. It most likly will help, I
have had several injections into my knee,
after having arthroscopic on my r knee and
it clears up the swelling almost
instantly, I have yet to be totally pain
free post surgery though.
