For a few months now, i've had occasional
nausea (no vomiting or diarreah, just
queasy), pain in upper right side
(sometimes severe), and sometimes lower
too, and pain in shoulder that feels like
arthritis. I also have sometimes severe
pain in lower right pelvic area.
I've had an ultrasound, a cat scan with
and without contrast, and a hida san
because I figured it was either my
gallbladder or my appendix. Both came
back normal! But when I was getting the
hidascan done, the technician first said
"ok, I do see some blockage", but then as
the test finished, she said it was all
normal, and when my doctor read the
results, he said everything was fine.
Isit possible that it could still be my
gallbladder? What else is over on the
upper right side then, besides
gallbladder? And if this is stomach
related, why does my shoulder hurt so much
when my stomach hurts?
Bowel movements are normal also.
I had a complete hysterectomy last
june-could this possibly be scar tissue
damage that far up, under my ribcage?
Not sure what other tests I need to have
done, but i'm tired of this pain....

Gall Bladder Or Not? Posted: 05-12-05 11:15am
I had similar pain for months. I am a
gastric bypass patient, so I just figured
I ate something that upset my stomach.
The pain would wake me up at night and I
would have to get up and eat crackers or
bread and then wait 1/2 hour for it to
ease. The attacks would come and go for a
week or so and then nothing for a month or
two .. Then started getting more severe
and frequent. The pain was high, and
wrapped around my right side into my back.
It was exactly like a gall bladder
attack, but I knew it wasn't that because
I had it removed 10 years ago. I finally
called my surgeon and they did an
endoscopy .. I had 3 ulcers. I don't
remember if the pain went up into my
shoulder, but it definitely radiated into
my back like when I had gall stones. I
took nexxium and sucralfate for 6 weeks
and haven't had any problems since.

Gall Bladder Problems Related to Uterus Surgery? Posted: 05-17-05 09:33am
Molliepie, your entry interested me
because I never had any pain on my upper
right side until I had an emergency
c-section during a miscarriage at 6
months. I've still got my uterus, but,
like you, my pains began after that
surgery. I've always wondered if the
trauma affected my body to the point that
my gallbladder stopped fuctioning right.
I know my calves were very sore after the
surgery and never before. I almost feel
like my whole system went sluggish after
my miscarriage and operation. I was
transfused too. It's always been at the
back of my mind that the operation played
some part, so your case interested me.
Let me know if you find anything out.
