I tried to skip my period this month by
not taking the placebos and starting a new
pack (sunday) and I thought all was fine
until thursday when I started my period.
I called the doctor on my first day of
bleeding and the nurse said I may bleed
but it probably would only be for a few
days but to keep taking my pack like I
was. Well it has now been 5 fulls days
and it hasn't let up and I have constant
all day cramps. I've read a few posts on
here where it says this can be normal, but
i'm just worried this will continue until
I take the next set of placebos (i still
have a little over a week and a half of
actives left to take first). Will it
hurt me to bleed this long? I am on
necon, which is monophasic, i've only been
on it for a couple months. Luckily I
wasn't trying to miss a period this month,
my wedding is in july and I was trying to
shift it for then, so hopefully it will go
back on track. If the bleeding does
continue, should it stop like my regular
period would when I finish up the
placebos?
It was suggested by someone on another
board to just take the placebos this
sunday and start a whole new pack after
that. I didnt like that idea because it
would put my period during my honeymoon
and i'm obviously not a successful
skipper, so I don't know if I would be
able to move it later.
If it will stop at the end of this pack, I
should have been able to move it
successfully out of my wedding/honeymoon
time, even though I had a period this
month. So should I just ride out the
bleeding and wait for it to stop on its
own?

Yup, just ride the period out. It might
last until and through your regular period
at the end of the pack, but its just one
of those things. Everyone's body reacts
differently, and apparently yours didn't
like skipping the week of placebos! :p
just wait it out is the best advice there
is for this. Look on the bright side...
At least now you know skipping probably
doesnt work for your body and you wont
have your period during your
wedding/honeymoon! Just gotta take the
good (no period on honeymoon) with the bad
(this month of bleeding and crap)!
