My sister had stomach surgery 2 years ago
because she had an ulcer that would not
heal. They removed a large portion of her
stomach. She still had reflux problems so
they did another surgery, reconstructing
her intestines. Now her stomach does not
empty. The feeding tube kept coming out
and hurting her when it was in, so she
could not sleep. Now she eats and throws
up or has diarrhea every time she eats.
It is affecting her kidneys and liver at
this point, she has calcium shots, and she
is suffering from malnutrition. She is
only 43. She has been to uva and
hospitals in lynchburg and roanoke, and no
one has helped her. We don't know what to
do next. She is getting weaker every day.
Does anyone know where we should go? She
in on medicaid, so she is limited in
finances. We live in virginia. Please
help my sister!
I would suggest vanderbilt hospital in
nashville or ut medical center in
knoxville. I am so sorry to hear about
your sister's suffering. She is so lucky
to have a sister that cares so much about
her.
