Symptom of Iron Deficiency??? Posted: 03-29-05 15:53pm
Over the past 2 years I have developed an
extreme sensitivity to cold. I stay cold
all the time unless the temperature is
over 70 and there is not breeze. If
there is a breeze and I can feel it on my
skin, it doesn't matter what the
temperature is I will feel cold. Is this
a sign of an iron deficiency? Can
someone please help me??

Well it could be anemia I think. Usually
anemics are also very thin so less body
fat might be a reason why you are cold.
I am cold all the time too can't go
anywhere without my sweater...
Bundle up warm, take care, see you dr,if
you can
ps- at least you dont have to worry about
sweating...

I have anemia (iron deficiency). Being
cold all the time is a symptom of anemia.
I found out that I had anemia because my
hair was falling out (it was 1/2 as thick
as it was a few weeks before). I went to
the doctor and told him what was happening
and he did a blood test. That's the only
way that you'll know for sure if you have
an iron def.
My doc told me to take iron pills, 3x a
day, they're a pain!!! And they have to
be taken for 6 or so months, so I suggest
to anyone, try and get lots of iron in
your diet!!

Hi! I have anemia and I get cold very
easily, but I have many other symptoms
too. Like shaking, dizziness, fainting,
and a bit of memory loss. It's very
strange how low iron can completly mess
your body up. I had to get a blood test
to determine how low my iron level was.
You should go to the doc. And get it
checked out. Do you eat plenty of iron
rich foods? I hope you get it all figured
out! Good luck!
