Tampons Ick

Ok I just spent a really long time trying to figure out how to put a tampon in and I think I finally did.....But I dont think I did it right cause I could feel it inside of me and the tip was sticking out....Also it felt very wierd taking it out....Almost like it was so tight in there that I was doing something wrong....I have looked on lots of websites for help but none seem to be very usuful. Anyone wanna give me good instrutions or know somewhere(internet or wherever really) where I can get them?

What kind did you use? It's hard the first couple of times.. I remember not being very successful either. I recommend one with a smooth plastic applicator the first times because you are naturally "tight" down there and they can be hard to put in! The smooth plastic is easier to glide "in". You "shouldn't" feel it.. But sometimes it does take a few minutes to forget it's there. The best thing to do when you are first trying it may be to lie on your back with your knees bent up.. But it may be different for everyone. Plus.. Practice makes perfect!

I started using tampax when I was twelve and I am now in my late 40s but I can remember my first time like it was yesterday, even now and again at the end of my period when I am not bleeding so much I feel it inside me to but as the lady said practise makes perfect but make sure u are well lubricated as the older tampax with the card board I have cut myself now I get the new ones with the plastic applicator and find them a lot easier, hope things work out for u wee norma

Yes, make sure they are far in enough.

Stick in the applicator until your hand is on the tip of it and it can't get in anymore. Then push the tampon allll the way in, when you hit the back, you can feel it, and thats when you know when ro stop. Eventually you wont have to hit the back to know when to stop, but its good the first time.

Try ob, may seem gross without an applicator, however they are the only ones that I can use and they are smaller and seem easier to put in. Just make sure that you push it in far enough. Good luck!

I had problems using tampax (i don't think I can even use it to this day)

i tried once the platex beyond (the purple ones for the light days) and they were so comfortable. For the heavy days you should use the other ones.

I really recommend using any kind of tampons that you can stand when you have to be outside your house. Pads are just so unconfortable and dirty. Ever since I wear tampons, I even forget I have my period.

Also it might be a matter of time. This is like when you first start wearing contacts or start driving. It takes practice.

Hi, I remember when I was twelve and started wearing tampons. What really help me was putting a bit of vaseline on the tip of it, made it much easier to slide it in.

I agree with mayhi that ob are easier.
I also had trouble with regular tampons and could feel them too much and didnt think they were in right. With ob, even tho you have to use your finger to insert them you dont feel anything afterwards and they are very comfortable. Good luck =)

You can use a tampon on all days of your period, unless it is very light. I suggest trying to use one for a heavier flow if you leak.

I have problems with tampax, it always seems like the tip sticking out is too dry and wide so it hurts...I usually use playtex, I think the plastic, closed tip makes it much easier b/c it's not dry on the end. And put it in slowly and try to get the whole top wide part inside with just the thin piece that you push on outside of your body. Make sure to hold onto it though after you've pushed it up. And put it in at an angle, not straight up. As for positioning, I usually just spread my legs while sitting.
