Acceptance And Lithium Posted: 03-30-05 05:24am
Due to some unfortunate emotional public
displays, I have finally accepted my
bipolar (easily treatable) disease. I
have a natural tendancy, according to my
physician, and through reflection of my
life, to be on the mania cycle. My
personality lends itself to always be
busy. I am trying to slow down more
everday, take that nap, smell the roses,
etc. I have also experienced the
depressed, recluse side of my illness as
well. (sometimes I feel I have to
explain everything)
my two questions: the lithobid I am taking
is drying my skin, a typical occurence as
it is sodium based. Do any of you know a
natural, organic alternative to a lithium
based medication? I have a follow-up
meeting with my physician, however my
feeling is he will only prescribe
medications okayed by the fda. Does
anyone go to a homeopathic physician?
Thanks - I have a tendency to "ramble" on
- welcome to the maniac life,huh ;)
