Hey again!

Yasmin has the normal pills with hormones for three weeks. Then on the fourth week there are "placebo pills" which have no hormones. You don't even really have to take them, they are mainly there to help you keep on schedule, so you don't get out of the habit of taking them. Does that make sense? I thought all brands were that way, but since i've only been on yasmin, I dont really know....

Dls1729, I too have read some scarey things about yasmin, only after I started the pill though, I am only 19 years old and I feel like an old cracky geezer. I just started on yasmin about 2 months ago. Nothing too exciting but I have noticed frequent bathroom breaks and mood swings. My poor roommate has noticed a change in me as well, I just feel listless and I would rather lay in bed all saturday than go out like I usually would. I cry at the littlest things and I get mad over stupid things. I am trying to figure out if yasmin is worth all of this stress. Goodluck :)

I love my yasmin but I do have the side effect of mood swings...I get over-emotional about everything and i'm always crying (happy, sad, excited, nervous...I just feel like crying!). I never used to be this way, but since i've started yasmin (7 months ago) I have been emotional like this. It's not bad to the point that I want to risk switching and mess up my body (i heard worse things about once you get off yasmin), but still, I do annoy my boyfriend alot, lol.

Vitamin B6

I had done research on taking care of the mood swings as a result of hormonal bc. They cause a deficiency in b vitamins. I take a woman's multi-vitamin, and it has a helft amount of b6, b12, thiamin and riboflavin, which are found in "b-complex" vitamins. This can also help with any issues with hair loss. I've been on nuvaring for 2 weeks and havent had mood swings or significant hair loss, and i'm sure it's because of my vitamin. Give it a try.

I take women's one a day and chromium piconilate(spelling?), so i'm not sure lack of vitamins is my problem. I do think everyone should take vitamins though! When I started taking vitamins everyday people would tell me I look healthy...My complexion got (almost)flawless, my hair and skin never get dry, my nails are stronger...

Yasmin made me very depressed and tired. It got soooooooooooo bad that I stopped on the 5th day. I went on it to help clear my acne. Any other suggestions on bc?
