I have various mental health problems that I will not bore you with at the moment, but I am curious as to you knowledge regarding this particular class of anti depressants. I have taken paroxetine (good for anxiety, tourettes, but bad for depression), sertraline (pretty good at a high dose, but came off it) and am now on fluoxetine- the worst in my case for killing libido!

I see a psychiatrist and am thinking about going back to sertraline (zoloft/lustral) for the time being. My question to you is this:

do the more potent ssris work as well a second time around? I know for a fact that paroxetine (paxil for you yanks) does not. These things take long enough to kick in, so I don't want to waste my time if the it is unlikely that it will have the same affect for me this time around.

Your personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

All right, i'll tell you how it went.

Paroxetine and sertraline worked well for anxiety and even tourettes but I still felt depressed as hell, so I switched to fluoxetine. I am a sex maniac to be honest with you, and not even paroxetine harmed my over active libido in any way shape or form. But fluoxetine killed me from the waist down! No joke...

So I am back on what you guys call zoloft (its lustral over here), and my docs have assured me that going back on a med after a stint off it will be fine. I sure hope so!

Well the zoloft is working again. I am on olanzapine as well though.

I am glad to hear that your zoloft is working for you. The hospitals here have support groups with meetings, you might check it out with a couple of your hospitals there. You also might check out mental health there, they might have something that will help you also.
Good luck!
Sincerely,
'sandy
