Has anyone had a spinal fusion? My neurosugeon is saying I may need one.
He said he would go in from the front. I am just wondering if anyone has
ever had this type of surgery and what was their outcome.
Thanks

The anterior approach is steadily becoming the most accepted way to access the lumbar and cervical spine. You are less likly to have nerve damage by the "front" approach since the facet joints are not being bothered with like when they go through your back.

I would not have a problem with the anterior approach since that is how they did my surgery.
