Q: Ovulating? Are There Other Ways to Find Out If You Do?

I was wondering if there are other ways to find out if you are ovulating and which ones are the least hassle, but most effective. You see, I have just got my insurance so I plan to find a new obgyn cuz mine is not cutting it. However, they are probably gonna ask if I ovulate. My old obgyn gave me this cgart and told me that every day and every month for the next few months I had to take my temperature before rising and chart it. I tried, but there are those days that you wake up late or forget and you can't do it after you rise to your feet or even pee in the morning! This is so inconvenient, but I would like to know if I ovulate before I see the obgyn. Let me know! Thanks!

Still ttc,

Try an online ovulation predictor....You can find one that you can record your temperature in, your discharge, and menstrual period lengths...

Ok I know that this is going to seem a little graphic but there is one way to tell if you are ovulating. If your vaginal discarge looks clear and is stringy like egg yoks then you are ovulating. If your discharge look white and is pastey then you are not. Opne way to check the substance is to get a signifigant amount on your thumb or index finger and then touch the two fingers togather. If your discharge is sticky and acts like gum (stays stuck to both fingers) then you are ovulating.

Using ovulation strips worked for me. I suggest you buy them online cuz their so muhc cheaper. I bought like 40 for 13 dollars which is a good deal. They work just like pregnancy tests.. So just every morning pee in a cup then insert the little stick and within seconds you'll either see one line (negative) or two lines which means you are about to ovualte in the next 12-24 hrs. They work very good and are so much easier then doing the temperature thing... Good luck
