Help!! Possible But Is It Probable? Paternity Question Posted: 04-05-05 13:36pm
My ex-girlfriend told me that she was
pregnant. It was a time that we were
broken up but on and off. She claims it
was from the last time we had sex which
was on october 28 or 29th and the due date
was july 29th. She was induced a week
early july 20th since the doctor said the
baby is developing very well and is at a
good size. I was worried that staying in
too long would be harmful which is why the
decided to take him out early. Though
she’s maintained that she was never with
anyone else I have had some doubts.
Recently I looked at a conception calendar
on a paternity website
(http://www.Genetree.Com/about/conception-
calculator.Asp) and it said that with a
due date of july 29th the most probable
date of conception is november 6. Does
this mean we could have still had
intercourse on the 28/29 of october and
gotten pregnant from that? Also, she knew
after 2 or so days that she was pregnant.
I know this is possible but doesn’t it
usually take 2 weeks? I heard of some
women knowing very quickly that they are
pregnant especially since she already has
2 kids. I know the best answer is to take
a paternity test which I probably will,
but looking at this situation that I just
explained: does this sound weird?

Yes it could still be yours. The dates
you are speaking of are all so close that
it is definitely possibly. Of course- if
she was with someone else around the same
time then it could be that person's. The
dates given for conception and due dates
are "in general". If you have sex on
"one day" it doesn't mean that on this
"other certain day" she will be due. You
better just get the test if there is a
question.

Is the Baby Yours? Posted: 04-06-05 00:23am
That is a hard one. I agree with badsal
with the dates. The doctors can only
guesstimate the due date and the dates you
are talking about are so close together.
Does the baby look like you? That really
does not mean anything. Our son looks
like neither of us! I would get a
paternity test so if it is yours you can
get on with life with your child because
kids need their daddy!!!!!!

Thanks for all the information. I don't
know who the baby looks more like.
Sometimes I think me and sometimes her.
He's half east indian (from me) and aa.
He was born with a full head of straight
hair but it's now very curly. Basically
why I found it weird was because if the
Dr. Calculated a due date for the 29th of
july it would mean that was 40 weeks after
the first day of her last period which
would be october 23rd. She insists that
it was from the last time we had sex which
was on the 28th of october and even asked
the Dr. In front of me what was the date
of conception which she said 28th or 29th.
Because of that I never thought much
about it back then. But thinking now, if
her last period began oct. 23, how
feasible was it for her to conceive on
october 28th and know only a few days
later that she was pregnant?

Like we said - take a test!!!!
Do you not think the child is yours?
Does she know you think this way? I
wouldn't get so worried about the dates.
The dates are in general- and everyone's
monthly cycle can be different.

I am planning to take the test, it's just
a matter of getting the money together cos
they are pricey. It's a big amount of
money out of my pocket if the child is in
fact mine to have to cover on top of other
child expenses. I was just explaining
where my thoughts came from to see if
anyone else found anything weird it it.
