I have lupus and where I live I cannot get help. My hair is like seaweed and if the wind blows it just blows right out you can see it fly through the air but when I feel good and no rash it grows thick and healthly but when I flare up I am bald in a few days my spots have never left and they are getting darker but it is always followed with female problems any advice. Hi,
i, too, experienced significant hair loss--although, yours sounds worse than mine. I bought a product package from my hair dresser that was supposed to support new hair growth. I was skeptical, but I was desperate to try anything. To my surprise, it worked great for me. I'm at work right now, so I don't have the bottles to look at & I can't remember the name of it. It came in a set of four bottles and was green. It worked so well, I was able to stop using it after 90 days. I'll look for an old bottle when I get home and post again. I'm sure if you asked a hair dresser, he/she would know of similar products.

Lizbet...I, too, have heard of a product made for follicle stimulation. I heard about it at the salon I go to.

There are some other things you can do too.
1) a lot of people claim that a shorter hair cut makes it easier to deal with.
2) the wig (as lizbet said) or a thickner (weave-like) peice may be something else to think about.

3) hats...I have really come to love hats. I'm not one for wigs because they make me sweat even more than normal!

I hope this helps in some small way!
Hugs,

Hi,
sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this message. I have looked through all of my stuff, and I can't find one of the old bottles of the product I was using. I moved over the summer, and if there had been just a little in the bottle, i'm sure I would have thrown it away. I also don't go to the same hair dresser since i've moved. If you get in contact w/ a salon and ask about a hair follicle stimulating product, i'm sure someone can help you. My package cost $45 and with washing my hair every other day, lasted me 90 days. Now that I think about it, I think I used it for two cycles. Sorry I can't be of more help. Best of luck to you.

Hi,
i am a manager for a hair salon. There are several products you can try: nioxin, rogaine for women, scalp remedy by aveda. You should consult your Dr. Because it sounds like it may be from a hormonal change that happens around your monthly. Also medications and stress can cause random hair loss. I would also suggest that you avoid coloring your hair, using hair products, and heat (hair dryer, curling irons, washing with hot water). Heat causes the folicle to open up. There are some very attractive hair peices that you can try. Use you real hair if you can around the the front and sides to make it look natural. These are only suggestions and there is no guarentee it'll work. Good luck. I know how you feel! I hate going to work when my hair is all........You know....In the drain! Let me know how things work out for you. If you would like I can try to find more info for you from our supply companies. Daisy3 Smile

No I do not loose my hair with my monthly and if this is the case my monthly is 30 days long! And no I do not think you know or do you understand what I am going through and why is it that everything people cannot find an answer to it has to be your monthly! Of course I am not backwards everyone knows no to use chemicals or heating products you use nothing that causes stress every lupus person knows this . Was a hurtful reply this is something that I expect from doctors I pay 85.00 to hear not on this site, its hurtful.
