20 Years Old And Chest Pain. Question!!!! Posted: 04-06-05 02:08am
Hello. I am 20 years old. I never ate
vegtables until only a few months ago. I
had my first salad at 20! Hard to
believe. ...Its true. Throughout my
adolecense and teen years I only ate junk
food and fast food. Now that I am trying
so hard to have healthy eating habits, I
have chest pains.
My doctor said it is acid reflux. The
pain is sometimes weight on the left side
of my chest but mostly sharp shooting
pains, also on the left side of my chest.
Usually it feels like its on my breast.
Its been going on for 3 months. It goes
on and off. Sometimes continuously for
hours and hours. Sometimes it goes away
and will come back after a week or two.
Last time it started I also had a lil
weird feeling..A lil pain in my lower left
back.
I also experienecd tingling in my
feet.......Its gone now...But would bother
me alot before.
I told my doctor and she said it was acid
reflux..
I always tell her when I have new
symptoms, and she says i'm just anxious
and paranoid. She offered me
antidepressants...And said anxiety causes
chest pains...What I feel.
What about the tingling in my feet? She
said it could be the medicine i'm taking
for the reflux.
I haven't told her about the pain in my
back, i'm too embarressed b/c whenever I
tell her, she says i'm anxious.
I don't want antidepressants. I don't
believe I need them at all. I just want
some tests ran or somethng...All they did
was take a blood test for chemicals in my
body..But from my pancreas, stomach, liver
which all came out normal.
I was wondering, does any body know if
there is a way to check if it is
definately acid reflux? An xray or
something?
