Pimple Like Pumps On Vagina - Want Them Gone! Posted: 04-07-05 16:26pm
Okay..
I'm 16 years old, have only had sex twice
(definatlely protected), and that was
about three months ago. I'm doubting
that my partner gave me anything.
I also shave regularly, and sometimes get
irritated skin from shaving. Recently,
two bumps appeared.. One between my
vagina and thigh, and the other, on the
front of my vagina. They resemble
pimples. I messed with one attempting to
get rid of it, and it turned bright red..
Fortunately, it's going away.
I've stopped shaving for about two weeks,
but I don't know what else to do to get
them to dissapear! I really hate having
them.
Is there anything I can get over the
counter? I don't want to go see a
gynocologist, because the entire idea
makes me nervous.. I also don't want my
mom knowing I had sex. I just want these
frickin' bumps gone!
Oh - and I also recently had spotting for
the first time.. I thought I had started
my period, and it was about a week early,
but then it stopped. We've started
running alot in gym and that sometimes
messes things up for me, but I figure i'll
mention that as well.

They're probably ingrown hairs from the
shaving. You shouldn't pick at them b/c
they could get infected. I suggest
soaking the area either in the tub or
using a warm washcloth for a while and
then using an exfoliating product to
lightly rub the area to try to free the
hair.

It sounds like folliculitis caused
potentially by a mix of shaving and your
gym work which will be causing rubbing in
the affected area.
If you went to a doctor they would most
likely prescribe a topical anti-biotic
cream, which in many cases will be the
same medication used to treat acne.
The other things to do include:
- not shaving the area
- wearing looser fitting underwear to
avoid excessive skin contact, especially
during exercise
- using an anti-bacterial soap, which
should be left on for at least 30 seconds
and then rinsed clean.
- using corn starch powder to absorb
excessive moisture in the infected area.
- when the problem improves using a good
quality skin softening lotion to repair
the skin

Sounds like ingrown hairs. You can get
this special cream from either pharmacy or
beauty therapists to help with ingrown
hairs. Diluted tea tree oil also does
wonders. Don't pick at them or they could
scar. Good luck.

You can get many std's even with the use
of protection. Herpes, warts, hpv, etc.
So, you really should go see your gyno to
make sure it isn't just ingrown hairs.
Since you are sexually active, you need to
start getting your annual pap exams
anyway. You can go to a family planning
or like clinic for free and without your
parent's consent. That way you can get
this treated without your mom having to
know that you had sex. Good luck.
