Ithchy Red Bumps All Over Body Posted: 04-09-05 12:32pm
Hello,
i read a topic similar to that of what I
am experiencing. That however didnt
answer my question too well. I started
having some raised non-itchy bumps a week
back on my chest area. In 3 days I
noticed this was spreading across my back,
inner arms and armpit. Now its visible
and itchy all over my chest, stomach, back,
hands, forearms,lower abdomen, some
noticeable in my inner thighs and legs.
There is none on my face. Some appear red
and raised in different sizes, some turned
dark purple and dried out in my lower
abdomen area. However the ones on the
chest are red and bumpy. I emptied one
tube of hydrocortisone in 2.5 days and
have been poppiong a claritin every day.
I went to the doc yday and he just had 2
mins with me to see and say its usual for
this to come up in april-may time and the
cause is yet to be known. If casued by a
virus , he said could have got from
someone or somewhere, but its not known.
He used a two word medical term for this
which I coudnt pick up although I asked
him twice. He said just take a benadryl
and it will take its time of a month to
go. I am one week into this and knowing
it will be a month before this goes is
gruelling. Last two nights I also have
been using caladryl to soothe my itching
sensation. I am not able to find any
writing online about this, is there
someone who knows or has experienced this
tell me about it?

I have the same darn thing going on.
About ten on each arm and some on the
upper part of my legs in the front.
Itchy as heck!
I tried changing soaps but to no avail...
I haven't done anything different.
I'm looking up symptoms of measles and
chicken pox but I don't think I have
either.

My sister and I have the same thing-my
sister went to the Dr. To find out what
it was and he couldn't give a good
diagnosis of it or what it was caused
from. I happy to know others have the
same thing-

I have been reading posts like this all
over the internet about women who have
this sort of thing, and I dont understand
why there's not that much doctors know
about it. I had the same thing a year
ago and it's definately a viral infection
I think I got from a tanning bed. I has
itchy red bumps on my chest and stomach
that got so bad that it kind of looked
like a burn. It was gross. So my
doctor perscribed me this two week
antibiotic that comes in one of those
aluminum pop out trays (they were very
strong but I dont remember the name) the
rash was gone in a couple of days but you
have to continue taking the pills until
they're gone. But now the rash is coming
back out of nowhere! It's a nightmare! I
think it may be brought on by stress...
But my main point is dont let your doctor
tell you it's nothing! Just tell him to
perscribe you an antibiotic (a strong one)
and you'lll be out of your itchy misery.

Don't mean to scare anyone, but it also
sounds like it could be scabies. Most
people hear that word and think it's some
risque std, but it's actually quite common
to get (and fairly easy to get rid of) -
especially if you have the rash in mostly
'warmer' places and none on the face.
It's spread by direct contact, but it is
very contagious (similar to lice) and it
often doesn't show up for a while until
suddenly you break out in an extremely
itchy rash (most commonly between and
under the breasts, in the upper thigh and
pelvic area, and on the inner elbows and
armpits). My husband and I went through
a heck of a time trying to get a doctor to
finally diagnose it - I finally had to
just tell my doctor what to prescribe
(lindane) and we finally got rid of it.
They say it's very commonly spread among
children and my husband is a pediatric
nurse so i'm sure that's we got it!

Hi... When I woke up 2 days ago, I
noticed I had over 100 bumps all over my
body, excluding my face. About a week ago
I had between 5 and 10 just on my legs,
but then they spread. I went to the
doctor last night and he was not sure what
this is. He gave me a cortizone shot and
I think it helped a little. He also
prescribed me some medicine but I forget
the name. He said the bumps don't look
like hives. My bumps don't really itch,
but some are pretty painful. I have tried
taking benedryl but I didn't notice any
changes. I have been under a lot of
stress lately and I thought that might be
the cause of the bumps. If you have found
out any information about these yet,
please let me know. Thanks.

I have been living with this red itcty
stuff all over my body for months, it
sucks and some are larger than others and
get really dry...But I went to the doctor
and they told me that it is an exema
allergic reaction but I didnt do anything
different soap or perfume wise. And for
the person that posted the thing about
scabies, their wrong! When I was talking
to the doctor she said they are definatly
not scabies because scabies are
infections and gruesome. Just to let a
few people know cold showers will help the
itching ease and if you use this soap (
anti bacterial) that is used in hospitals
and you can buy in the drug store called
cetephil, it will help as well. For the
ones that are really irritated neosporin
helps a little, it wont get rid of it but
it will soothe and make the reddness go
down. And that last piece of advice that
has helped me is dont wear anything twice.
Even if it is a pair of pj pants that you
walked around in for a few hours. Wash
them then wear them, it really helps, I
dont know why but clean clothes dont ever
itch.

I have little red bumps as well. They are
all over my inner arms, my torso, sides,
armpits, thighs and butt. At first I
thought it might be chicken pox, but I
doubt it because I already had a severe
case when I was little. I was in a hot
tub saturday night (and its now tuesday
night). I noticed the bumps first came
out monday afternoon. Now the bumps are
raised and half of them are getting white
pus heads, like you can pop them. What I
believe I have is a bacterial infection
from pseudomonas aeruginosa. It causes an
infection of the hair follicles. So if
any of you were in hot tubs, pools, water
parks, lakes, or even at then gym, this
could be your cause as well. It's very
common during the summer season. Some of
you maybe have swimmers itch, or heat rash
even.

That sounds a lot like what I have. It
would make sense that it could've came
from a hot tub or pool cuz I have used
both. Do your bumps itch? Mine didn't.
For the most part they have gone away.
They are still a little visible on my
inner arms and my hips... Those are the
spots I had them the most. I noticed that
I got them worse every time I went to a
different state... But again, I was using
a hot tub or pool at each location. What
are you using to treat your bumps?

Mine are pretty much gone now as well they
only last for a little more than aweek.
There a just a few red blothes and some
flaky skin. Mine itched abit in the
beginning but as they turned into little
heads, and became more red and inflammed
they were more painfun then anything. I
had them mostly on my inner arms, my
armpits, and around my buttocks. You get
more of them where your bathing suit has
been rubbing or touching your skin. To
treat I was just using diluted vinegar
soaks a couple times a day, and I bathed
with epson salts. I pretty much knew the
cause right off the bat. You always gotta
be careful about hot tubs you go in,
because of the warm temp bacteria tend to
thrive. It's actuallly pretty disgusting
if you think about it lol.

I looked up that bacteria and founds some
pics... They looked exactly like mine.
Thank you so much for helping me out cuz
the doctor had no idea what it was from.
My skin must be sensitive to that bacteria
because there were other people in the hot
tub with me and no one else broke out.
I'm gonna be a lot more careful from now
on.

It Is Called Pityriasis Rosea Posted: 09-09-05 14:06pm
It is called pityriasis rosea. Trust me,
I had it too. They think it is caused by
a virus but there are no drugs to cure it.
It took a while to go away, about three
weeks and my skin was still dry and
slightly itchy for a month after. I used
caladryl loction to relieve some of the
itching. Nothing much more you can do
except wait for it to go away.

:? :( whatever you are all talking about
I have. This just occured on saturday
night. I was sleeping and in the middle
night became very itchy on my legs, my
stomach, and my arms. I woke up the next
morning and had little red itchy bumps
that looked like mosquito bites. My
spouse had nothing. The second night was
even worse. I rubbed lotion throughout
the day, but by the end of the day i'm in
my own personal hell. I dont have a pet
so its not fleas, in fact I initially
thought I was bitten by a bug in my sleep,
but the bumps are all in the same areas on
both sides of my body so it cant be a bug
bite. I went to the drug store and they
told me to by bactine which is a first aid
liquid that relieves itching. I also
bought benadryl. Can someone confirm this
is pityriasis rosea and advise how that
conclusion came about? I appreciate it.
Hello,
i've been experiencing this itchy bichy
thing rayt now. I went to my doctor to
consult about this and they found out that
it's is a pityrias
is rosea. It's a common skin diseases but
the cause was still unknown. Strange
is'nt it? I started having some raised
non-itchy bumps a week back on my chest
area. In just 8 days it was spread out
all over my body(across my back, inner
arms and armpit. Now its visible and
itchy all over my chest, stomach, back,

gruelling. Last two nights I also have
been using caladryl to soothe my itching
sensation. I also tried oatmeal and guava
leaves bath but sadly it did'nt help me
ease the itchy and very irritating
feeling. My doctor recommend a
antibacterial medicine tablet
(erythromycin 500mg). I must take it for
a period of 2 weeks. I hope this will
gonna work.

My roommate and I have both started being
really itchy lately. I thought it was
just me, but when I pointed it out he
confirmed that he has been really itchy
lately. I notice the itching more than
the bumps, and it's all over the place,
but mainly my upper thighs and butt.
There are tiny bumps but not a whole lot
right now. In some places there are
almost no bumps but it still itches. We
have not made any changes in soap or
anything, we both haven't been in a hot
tub or gym or pool, although we do use the
same shower. And we sleep in different
beds. So I don't think this is keratosis
pilaris due to it being hereditary. Does
anyone know what this could be or what
could cause it?

Eczema, Itches Like Crazy Posted: 11-14-05 23:11pm
Eczema is what I found out that it must
be. I've tried everything. Even
soaking in the bathtub with oatmeal just
to sooth my body. My bumps have went
away and now I have rashes all over my
hands and thighs. I'm still going to the
doctor to see what else I can do. All
the other cremes that i've tried have done
nothing. My son and daughter now makes
jokes of me saying that I have to put on
my flea power.
