No Sperm = No Chance of Pregnancy... Posted: 04-13-05 18:34pm
My fiance has a rare case of
hypothyroidism (problem with thyroid and
pituitary gland). He finally got a sperm
test done 2 weeks ago and it came back
that he has zero sperm. (dr. Was afraid
of that). The nurses there told him to
not do "anything" 3-4 days before hand,
but he waited a little over 5 days.
Would that have made a difference? Plus,
he said it came out kind of liquidy.
Would that have affected the results?
Were getting married in october and
obviously dont want kids right now, but
eventually we do. Is it possible at all
to get pregnant w/out meds, or will we
have to use some scientific way to get
pregnant?

I doubt they mean he had entirely zilch on
his sperm count.
It normally means there is below a certain
threshold.
So it may be possible to under go
something like ivf and have them carefully
monitor his sperm production this will
very very likely involve meds of some
sort.
This is someting you need to discuss with
a doctor who knows your case (as everyone
is individual) to see what options are
available to you.
Never be afraid to get a second opinion or
even a third!
Good luck to you honey

Actually, the drs. Exact words were
(verbatim), "your count is really
low"...Fiance asked how low..."there isn't
anything". Were going to see his
endocrinologist next week so were gonna
see what he says.
