Hello, im new here, my name is shawn and
my story is a wild one.
I have been a moderate smoker for 13
yrs, usually around a half a pack a day
maybe less , maybe more, never a full pack
a day.
In aug 2004 I was playing softball in a
league, we had been playing all season.
Anyone one day it was very hot , 106
degress, I ran out to the field and
suddenly stopped , felt dizzy for about 30
seconds, it passed and I went on playing
not thinking anything of it. A week
later my feet broke out, sort of like
athletes foot, I scratched it and the next
thing I knew my hands broke out, went to
the doctor told me it was ath foot and and
I had developed a secondary infection.
Went to my regular doctor he gave me a
cream, didnt work, diflucan didnt work,
went to a dermatologist she gave me all
kinds of stuff and did a culture saying it
was strep, staph and yeast, she gave me
some gris peg, pennicillin, and some
cream, none of it worked, I went to a
nascar race not knowing that the gris peg
stated on it on the written directins,
avoid sun exposure while taking this
medication which no one bothered to tell
me, well after I had been on this stuff
for a while I went to that race and
everything felt fine until a few days
later, I felt like I had been kicked by a
horse for a about a week. No one said
anything about any possible skin cancer or
anythng to me. Well this has gone out
now for about 8 months I have been put on
several antidepressants and this causes me
problems with panic attacks and I end up
in the emergency room everytime. No one
beleives my story and I have even had one
doctor call me a hypochindriac, now I have
lost 40 pounds over the 8 months and I
look totally awful and still none of my
doctors beleive me in reference to this
story, none have done any blood work or
any type of biopsies. I am scared now
this was melenoma of some kind or possible
arsenic keretosis or something of this
sort but no one belives that either due to
this problem being more of less a problem
with drinking water in bangledesh for some
reason.
Before this all began I had two small
brown spots on my fourth fingers of each
hand, my doctor said it was an allergy to
possibly smoking, now they are gone,
totally and my hands look all blotchy, I
have major weight loss and my skin looks
like it has lost its pigment I have been
told.
Does anyone on here have any suggestions
? I have even went to a cancer
dermatologist in st. Louis who laughed
at me when I told her the story about the
strep, staph and yeast and she said
smartly, " who told you you had that ?"
smirking and giggling to her p/a. I told
her about everything and she laughed it
off as this, and that and said well, some
people have scaly feet and some people
have red hands, she didnt even bother to
do a biopsy of anything, just a scrpaing
and came back in and said, well it isnt
fungal and it isnt bacterial, geeh hello,
red flag here, lets do a boipsie and check
into this further, nah she didnt do that
either, now I have a pain across my chest,
left shoulder, left testicle, skin all
over looks awful, small red lil bumps on
my skin and my hands and feet still look
awful and no one even cares. My brain
feels like it is dripping or leaking. I
know it sounds stupid but this is driving
me nuts.
