small breast in 2nd trimester of pregnancy
Posted: 07-30-03 20:44pm

I'm concerned that if I don't have tenderness in my breast during my second trimester that I may not produce enough milk to breastfeed. Does anyone have any information.

Thanks!

Breast tenderness and size doesn't usually have anything to do with milk production. Your milk won't come in until the baby is born, until then you may experience a little white milky fluid like substance called colastrum. Be thankful you don't have sore boobs.... I'd give anything for mine to stop :p

I spoke with my doctor and he said that the milk doesn't come in until the later part of your 3rd trimester. He also said I should be happy that I don't have any tenderness, breastfeeding has nothing to do with how large your breast get or the tenderness.

I hope this helps!! Smile

Don't worry! I had small breasts right up until I gave birth-then I started breastfeeding! They probably won't stay small and you probably won't have any problems producing milk.
