u/s dates can be off they
say by up to 3 weeks especially in the 3rd
trimester. It can cause a lot of
confusion. You probably have nothing to
worry about. Mine said I was like 5 days
ahead of what I
was.
5 days ahead of what??
The first day of your last period.. Or 5
days ahead of when you concieved.. B/c
mine was 5 days ahead of my period....

yeah you say by the
measurments your 18 weeks and by the Dr.
Your 20 21 weeks... Well for me at the
time (april 28) by the Dr. I was 18 weeks
and6 days and by ultra sound I was 19
weeks and 5 days.. So thats why i'm
confused I figured the baby should measure
at 17 18 weeks..

you are welcome!!!!!!!!
Yes your doc should know. But if it was
a regular period then u prob got prego
right after your period....No im not prego
yet. My husband and I are trying we
have a 8 year old little girl and we think
it's about time for another one lol. So
im gonna take a test today but I think it
will be negative cause I think it is still
to soon to tell if I did conceive it has
only been a 2 weeks and what makes me
think im prego is that I was due for my
period on the 27 I got it on the 30 and it
only lasted a day or 2 when it usually
last more like 3-4 days and on the 5th day
it will be spotting and this time I bled
regular the 1st day and then it got
lighter..
I see.. Well you think
I got pregnany right after my period or on
the 31, 1, 2 those are the only times I
had sex after my period my last period was
on dec. 19

when the dr figures your due
date it is based on the date of your last
menstrual period (lmp). This is the last
time you knew for sure that you were not
pregnant. Conception could have actually
occurred at any time after that, ovulation
times can vary from woman to woman. They
then add 40 weeks to the first day of your
lmp and that is your due date. This is
why babies are "full term" at 38 weeks-but
due in 40 weeks. Even babies conceived
using in vitro use this same formula (even
though the exact date of conception is
well know). It is just easier to have a
universal rule for calculating due dates
for everyone. Us should be pretty close
to the date you got from your dr at your
first visit. If it is way off there may
have been a period while pregnant or a
missed period while not pregnant. In any
case don;t worry 2 weeks either way is
fine. Good
luck.
oh ok so say if someone
who knows exactly when they concived like
say dec. 31 the Dr. And when you have an
ultra sound will be about 2weeks ahead of
that.. Like for me I had my last period
on dec. 19 and on april 28 I had an
ultrasound that said I was 19.4 weeks and
when counted back it landed on I believe
the 16 of dec (real close to my period)
so that doesnt' mean I concived around
that time right? B/c of the 2 weeks they
add on... So more than likley I concived
on eithier the 31,1 or 2.. Right?? Cause
the are the only days I had sex after my
period ended... Sorry if i'm confusing I
just thought I got pregnant 2 days before
my period, which would be kinda hard being
that I used a condom...I just always think
the impossible.. What do you think

2 weeks eithier way but
does this mean if your 2 weeks ahead that
you concieved before your period or could
it just mean your having a big baby?

but don't they add 2
weeks on to pregnancy like if I concived
17 weeks ago(at the time 4-28) but I was
19 weeks according to my lmp and I
measured 19.4 weeks is that about right..
Or do you think I got preggo before my
period...

well i'm (at the time
april 28) 19 weeks according to the date
of my last period but if I concived on
dec. 31 I would be 17 weeks right???
Even when people know exactly when they
concived doesn't the Dr. Still add the 2
weeks (by going by lmp) my measurements
where only five days off according to the
first day of my period but I was thinking
that if I coniceved on the 31 then I would
of measured at around 17 weeks.. Or is
that not how they do it... Do you think
my measurements where right??? Do you
think I concived on dec. 31 or dec.17 (2
days before my period) I know i've asked
similar questions before but I just want
to get all the input I can.. I'm trying
really hard not to stress about this..
Thanks

Katie, you stress to much. You did not
get pregnant before your period. The
first ultrasound was the most accurate,
and if the doctor then estimated the 31st,
then that's the day you should count on,
+/- 1-2 days.
Time to relax and enjoy yourself instead
of catastrophizing. :d

thank you.. I know I
shouldn't be stressing about this.. I
just dont' want to be blind to the
situation.. And for my b/f to go through
all this with me for nothing I don't want
to hurt him.. Thank you for your advise
and I will try not to worry so much...
It's just right wheni start to forget I
read something how this one girl got
pregnant and still had her period the
first month and blah blah.. And then I
think that something like that might
happen to me... I know the chances are so
slim to almost nothing but I still want to
get input about it..
