I have an iud. I have also been having
unprotected sex. I know that my chances
of a tubal are increased with this type of
birth control. My last two cycles have
been unusual, I have heart burn, and my
abdomen is getting bigger and harder. I
took a home test today and it was
negative. I now have two questions:
is
it true that I can still have a period and
be pregnant?
will
a tubal show up on a pregancy test?
1. Pregnant woman might have some weak
vaginal bleeding (spotting), monthly,
during the first few months of pregnancy
but that is not a real period. Most of the
vaginal bleeding while pregnant should be
taken seriously because may indicate some
pregnancy disorder including miscarriage.
2. Tubal pregnancy will show up on BLOOD
pregnancy test. Home (urine) pregnancy
tests may not show up the pregnancy (false
negative test).

I'd definitely go get checked out by a
gyno and have a blood test. It could be a
pregnancy or another complication due to
the IUD.

Heart burn and abdominal issues can be
related to stress and irritable bowel
syndrome too...
