Could It Be Molar Or Normal After Miscarriage? Posted: 04-29-05 21:53pm
Hello, I just found out a little more than
two months ago that I had a blighted ovum.
It took a few weeks for me to start
bleeding. My hcg levels were
surprisingly high for how far along I was
supposed to have been. But they slowed
and then started to decline. I started
bleeding on march 15th. I was glad to
finally have some sort of a beginning to
closure from it. I have been having some
signs and symptoms of pregnancy this month
before my regular period should have
possibly came. Now I am 17 days late if
on a regular cycle. I tested positive on
pregnancy test and called the Dr. He
sent me to the hospital for hcg levels
done and told me that I could possibly
have molar pregnancy from remaining tissue
from the miscarriage. I have not been
having much in the way of nausea, no
bleeding, no real problems. Now I am
very worried. I was hoping for a regular
pregnancy of course if anything. We were
hoping to try again. Anyone have any
info or comments. Thanks.

I was also curious, I was about 9-10 weeks
along when we really knew that it was a
blighted ovum before and the Dr. Let me
wait for a natural miscarriage instead of
d&c because he said it was not
necessary usually for the blighted ovum
unless heavy bleeding. He did not
recheck my hcg levels afterwards. Now he
thinks it is possible for me to have molar
pregnancy from it. Has anyone else had
blighted ovum past 9 weeks to wait for
natural miscarriage? Why is it not more
likely that I am just pregnant again?
