My 10 Year Old Daughter.

She has complained of belly pain since she was 5. She has a history of high pancreatic enzymes that Dr. Has never been able to explain.
A week ago today she started complaining of sharp pains around her belly button and on the left side, which is sometimes accompanied by nausea. She has also ran a low grade fever ranging from 99.0 to 100.5 the entire week.
I took her to er when it started and they did blood work and said the white count was slightly elevated 2500 more than normal. Put her on motrin. (this was on sat. Night.)
monday, our m.D. Checked her out and scheduled an ultrasound on g.B., appendix, ovaries, ect.
We can't get the results for a week and are spending most nights sitting up waiting for 4 hours to pass to give her the next dose of motrin. Tonight she started complaining of the pain being in the center of her lower chest.
Anybody have any ideas what this could be or what I could do to ease the pain for her? Please help.

Hey sassyd, how is your daughter. Sorry to hear all she's been through. I'm really sorry I don't have advice but I remember when I was a kid like 8 or so I would get crippling stomach pains and they would last hours and then i'd feel fine.
Do painkiller help at all? Ask the dr, again and get a second opinion if you need to. Maybe you could look it up on www.Webmd.Com. It could help.
Take care and please keep me posted on how your daughter is doing...
I'm thinking of her...

My Daughter

My daughter was finally diagnosed at an er in a bigger town than the one I live in as having an infection of the lymph nodes called mesenteric lymphadenitis. They did a ct scan with contrast and barium and had her diagnosed in less than a couple of hours when the local doc had been fooling around for almost two weeks. Anyway, she spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital on zosyn antibiotics and is good as new now.
They say that the infection can come from adenosis, strep, staph, e coli and contaminated water or milk. My daughter's case was viral.
I am just happy to have her well again.
Thanks so much for your concern and good wishes.
