My daughter 22 has conversion disorder, at
present she is having problems with
tremors.She has had them for 3 weeks now,
the dr has put her on efexor for
depression and murelax for the tremors.
The tremors are in her head and neck area
and can last for 4 hours even with the
tablets, sometimes it goes in an hour but
comes back about 4 hours later and she
goes through the whole process again- its
awful and is really getting her down, she
has also had involuntary muscle movements
ie arms or legs flying up. Does anyone
have any advice to give her which may help
relieve the tremors or know of any other
treatment?

Hi. I am a 23 yr old female, and I have
had a conversion disorder for one year
now. Symptoms I have are: pseudoseizures,
dizzy spells, involuntary yelling, odd
behavior stemming from a lot of anxiety.
My psychiatrist and psychologist were at a
loss and didn't know how to help me. I
have been hospitalized 3 times. My
symptoms at times have lasted anywhere
from a couple seconds to two weeks, with
maybe 10 min. Of relief in each 24 hrs.
I go through a week or two sometimes with
really good, or really bad episodes.
My psychiatrist recently suggested
hypnotherapy with a licensed
psychologist/hypnotherapist. I have
recently started the sessions. Recovery
is supposed to be very promising along
with counseling sessions from my other
therapist. (i just asked my
hypnotherapist today what the recovery
time is with hypnosis –he said about 3
months. It's rough to have a disorder
like this -i know, but you’ll get
through this. I would suggest
hypnotherapy. If I can be of assistance
in any way, please do not hesitate to
