Sorry if this is too much detail, but when
inserting my diaphragm I found this
stalk-like growth which seems to protude
out of my cervix into the vagina. It gets
longer when you pull, feels like about a
1cm but doesn't hurt or bleed - yeah, i'm
grossed out, too.
I spent to days freaking out about the
'alien' inside of me, then I rang a
clinic. No reason to panic, apparently.
Just get it checked out, they said.
Right.
I have a long and tedious history of
problems with my cervix. Spotting,
bleeding during/after sex, one doc
suggested I should put a stop to domestic
violence in my relationship - still wish
i'd had the guts to tell her what I
thought of that. Then treatment for
erosions (x 3), finally some bright spark
found I had a cervical polyp and got rid
of the damn thing.
Then nothing for two years (barring mild
paranoia after six years of trotting my
cervix out for every doctor I could
find).
And now i've sprouted this 'alien'. And
i'm just so cheesed off (not all that
again!), but also scared. I'm 31. I seem
to have nothing but grief with my
reproductive equipment. Where is it all
going to end?
And now, to top it all off, my period is
late. 37 days. I tend to be all over the
place anyway, but that's long, even for
me. Does anybody know whether cervical
polyps (or fibroids or whatever else i'm
managed to grow in my uterus/cervix) can
delay your period? I've done at test, and
it came out negative.
Now i'm just mildly puzzled, a little
angry, but mostly scared. Any thoughts?
