Receipes For Acute Pancreatitis Posted: 05-04-05 12:02pm
I was just told I had this and my diet
needs to change drastically and I keep
searching the net for things I can and
can't eat. Does anyone have any
suggestions for me on where to look?

My son has spent 3 weeks in hospital after
being diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
He has been put on a low fat diet. No
oil, butter or margarine. No chocolates,
cakes, biscuits, dressings, peanut butter,
potato chips, full cream dairy products,
fatty meat, roasts or fried, no bacon or
processed meats (salami or ham), no tuna
in oil.
You can eat bread, crumpets, cereal, rice,
pasta, flour, salada's and crackers (low
fat varieties). Fresh, frozen or canned
vegetables, grilled lean beef, lamb,
veal, pork, chicken (skinless). Tuna
canned in water or brine, egg white, dried
beans, peas and lentils. Skim milk, low
fat yoghurt and icecream and low fat
cottage cheese. Also allowed herbs,
spices, vegemite, jam, marmalade,
boiled/jellied sweets, ice-cream toppings.
Water, juice, cordial, soft drink, tea
and coffee. All juices, fresh, frozen or
canned fruits.
Hope this listing helps you come up with
some ideas.

Interesting. That list does look acurate,
but for some reason chocolate doesnt
affect my pancreas...
