I have had this little ordeal for awhile,
no matter if im hot or cold my arm pits
always sweat. I cant ever wear tight
shirts in the arm pits cause they always
get wet and its embarrising. Is there
something I can do to control this problem
so I can wear t-shirts that arent baggy??

I believe you can get a special deodorant
from the doctor that helps to control
sweating - I just can't think of the right
name at the moment

a Solution! Posted: 05-26-05 00:32am
I used to have the exact same problem.
About a month ago I ordered an over the
counter anti-perspirant for excessive
sweating and hyperhidrosis. It's called
maxim; i'm not sure exactly how it works
so you might want to find out some more
info. You just put it on at night before
you go to sleep. You still use your
normal deoderant everyday but somehow it
stops the excessive sweating. It has
worked for me and I love it! It kinda
tingles for a couple minutes when you
first put it on but so far that has been
the only funky side effect.

I had a sweating problem too and one of my
co-workers recommended degree deaodorant.
( I was already buying the more
expensive ones and none of them were
working)
i haven't had sweat problems ever since.
It took like 3 or 4 days to see the
difference. If you have sweat problems
and you haven't try it, give it a chance,
it's only like $2.99. Sometimes the
cheap stuff works as well or even better.

I have the same problem..But will not take
meds for it..I use mitchum antiperspirant
from revlon..It has a high amount of
aluminum as per the drugstore ones
also..Which can be a problem down the
road..As studies suggest that most
alzheimer's patients have high levels of
aluminum in their brains..So I stick with
the mitchum..Which is high enough..I can't
wear any tight fitting shirts either..So I
buy them a little bigger especially in the
arm areas..Polyester is not very friendly
with my warm body either..Try to wear
mostly cotton as it breaths...Thanks

Excessive Sweating Posted: 08-10-05 20:13pm
My wife perspires completely over her
whole body especially under her breasts
and becomes quite raw and will not let up.
Please find a solution as it is
wearing her down. :( losing her self
preservation.
She has been to many specialists and many
tests including whole body mri. We
thought it could be related to the
thyroid, but the endocronologist couldn't
finf anything. She has had blood
tests, cat scans etc.
She doesn't have a proper diet and has
given up excercise. She consumes a
pretty good amount of water. The sweat
that is under her breast, which is very
raw. Is almost like a paste. She
is med heavy breasted. She will be 80
years on this coming october.
Boy what a history.

Try Botox? Posted: 08-11-05 22:21pm
You can now get botox injections, which
will stop your sweating completely. The
botox "freezes" your sweat glands, so no
sweat comes out. It is usually only used
under the armpits, and in very severe
cases of hyperhydrosis.

I have the same problem, but only in my
palms (palmar hyperhidrosis), and it is
very bad , especially hand shakes, I heard
botox work better for arm pits , but for
hands I am not sure.
I will give the botox a try anyway

I was prescribed anhydrol forty which you
have to be very careful with as it
contains aluminium so cant use for two
days either side of shaving your pits (if
u r a woman????)
i also now use sage supplements which are
supposed to help I suffered the
embarrassment for years but I think im
now in perimenopause which seems to have
made a difference altho I think it may be
hereditery as my 16 year old daughter has
the same problem!!!

I too suffer from hyperhydrosis and
excessive underarm odor-for the last 13
years. I have been to numerous
dermatologists and tried every creme,roll
on,etc. With no luck. The only thing
that has helped with the sweating is
botox-even that only lasts about 4 months.
The odor is really my biggest dilemma-my
current dermatologist says it has to be
caused by bacteria and gave me a roll on
medicine to use but it doesn't help at
all. Can anyone help?

I have the same problem, I have been
prescribed dricor a roll on deodorant that
you apply last thing at night and wash off
in the morning it kept me dry but I had an
allergy to it, so they tried me with a
talc but that made no difference. I am
now going in to hospital in a few days to
have my sweat glands cut so I hope this
will work, dose any one know of anyone
that has had this op done and was it a
success?

Smelly? Use Anti-perspirant Instead of Deodorant Posted: 06-09-06 16:43pm
I just recenty stopped using my
anti-perspirant to try a "stop sweating"
remedy and noticed that I started to smell
really bad within 5 hours of showering.
I've never smelled before, even though I
sweat alot in the underarms.
The remedy didn't work (using a loofah
sponge to scrub my underarms and not
wearing antiperspirant but instead only
using a natural deodorant), so i've gone
back to using mitchum unscented and,
again, I don't smell at all no matter how
much I perspire.
Hope this helps anyone with odor problems.
Try using a strong anti-perspirant
instead of deodorant.
I'm going to look into that maxim
stuff...Thanks for the idea. :)

I am not a dr and I used to sweat real
heavy under the arms and I agree that
mitchum is the best that I have used. I
have had friends that do not sweat and to
me that is worse, I even checked with the
dr about it and they agreed.
I have a couple of friends of mine that
are heavy breasted aand sweats heavily
under her breasts one ecen got an
infection one time and had to go to the dr
and the dr told her that she must keep
them up for a while that because of the
moisture and the darkness she
developeslike a yeast infection or a
fungus and the dr gave her some medicine
and she is just very cautious about it.
The best to all of you!

I heard that that can be caused from a
hormonal imbalance.
Mitchum is great...But it still didnt
solve the problem for me. I found
"certain dri" at osco. It works just as
well as any prescription, and you also put
it on at night. In the morning I still
use the mitchum ...And I seriously dont
sweat at all anymore. The stuff is a
miracle!

Hi, I had the operation of cutting the
nerves for auxillery, and hand and foot,
excessive sweating. The first time, I was
dry for six months, but then became began
sweating again the same as before the op,
The second op I was dry for a mere three
weeks.
The op has rid me of palm sweating, in
which the doc says is most common, but has
not rid me of auxillery sweating. It has
also had side effects like, causing
compensatory sweating, on the thighs,
legs, arms, eyebrows etc. This
compensatory sweating is almost as bad as
my initial condition, and I also still
have auxillery sweating.
So, I am now going to dry the loofah
scrub, and maxim, see if it works.
KK
hope I helped
Brendan,
But i also know someone that has had the
op and does not sweat anymore.
But i must say it is common for the first
six months after the op to sweat when
eating certain foods, and when it is hot,
it is also common to have compensatory
sweating in other parts, but this will
become less over time
Bye

I started sweating really bad under my
arms after I found out my husband needed a
heart transplant and almost died. I just
want to know if anyone knows what i could
use.
