A relative has been diagnosed with
hebophrenic schitzophrenia and
alcoholism.
He has been hospitalised on a number of
occasions but has not participated in the
hospital programmes and 'broke out' of
hospital a few times to go drinking.
He spends all day every day in bed in the
home of his ageing parents (rising only to
drink) and has been thrown out of or
dropped out of various courses etc. Which
he started.
The doctor sees no change in prospect -
just repeated hospitalisation + home stays
and says he is incapable of living alone -
he has been thrown out of any rented
acomodation he stayed in & never paid
a cent in rent.
He is very intelligent & used write
poetry - though less often now.
