Had Total Hysterectomy 10-28 Posted: 11-08-03 08:02am
I am 52 and was in the hospital 4 days.
There was more pain than I had expected
but once I got home was much better. I
retained alot of water but just kind of
sore now. Everyone said not to do
anything and that's the truth. I felt
pretty good 9 days after so decided to
wipe down the bathroom. Don"t do it.
You'll pay later. Just really tired the
rest of the day and night. Today (11
days after) my husband and I went to a
movie. It was ok but that is all I am
doing for the rest of the evening. I am
glad I had it and am on the mend. Good
luck to everyone else.

Congratualtions barb,
thats lovely to hear that you are feelings
so much better. My mum is 59 and she just
had a hysterectomy. It took her about 2
weeks to recover, she was in bed the whole
time, although she suffers severe anxiety
and has anurysms on the brain aswell,
which didn't help matters. But I know how
worried your family must have been. The
hysterectomy also triggered menopause, so
now she is taking hormone treatment, which
I think helps. Good luck barb, i'm sure
you will be feeling 100% in no time.
