Medical Tourism In the Philippines

There are a lot of articles nowadays about the pros and cons of having cosmetic surgery done in other countries. But I think the bottom line is choosing a qualified surgeon who can communicate well with you (even if he's an excellent surgeon, it still wouldn't be ok if you don't speak the same language). There are people who would go to interns or other cosmetic surgery providers (not trained plastic surgeons) in their own countries because that's the only way they can afford a procedure they really want to have. In this case, I really think it's better to consider medical tourism.

In the philippines, for example, patients who otherwise couldn't afford plastic surgery benefit from the highly favorable exchange rate. Lower overhead costs and professional fees makes it possible for surgeons to charge a fraction of the cost of the same procedures in the united states, u.K. And other countries. The cost savings are significant. For example, for liposuction, surgeon's fees in the u.S. Average $2,000 per area. In the philippines, it is around $800 for the first area and $500 for succeeding areas. Anesthesiologist's fees and facility costs are also much lower.

There are many qualified and well-trained doctors who have had formal training in plastic and reconstructive surgery, have acquired their postgraduate or fellowship training from well-known institutions in the u.S.A. And have been mentored by leading american plastic surgeons. And, they speak english fluently.

Although price is definitely a factor when considering elective surgery, patients seeking quality medical care at very affordable prices should know that choosing the right surgeon is the single most important decision they will make.

Liposuction In South America
Posted: 11-03-05 07:45am

Hello all,

i am considering a trip to south america both as a vacation and time to do a procedure.

I'd like to get some lipo on my stomach and chest and also on my chin and face area.

Can somebody out there share their experiences with me? I was thinking argentina or brazil during the hoildays.

Thanks

i dont know if anyone will read this, it is an old message.

I just got back from buenos aires, I live there half the year. I´ve made big mistakes with surgeons and paying far too much...But finally I got a great team of people and a fantastic dentist too.

I don´t mind talking to you about it, its not a medical tourist surgeon, the most reputable surgeons don´t partner with such commercial things, they don´t think its ethical. I´m really thrilled with my results, I am just sad it took me 5 years to find the best team in argentina (and who don´t charge a fortune just because they think tourists are rich basically)

anyway, lots of advice and what to avoid, feel free to contact me off line
