Another Episode Or Reality?

Confusion!!!!
Let me give you a little history. I was in a serious relationship with a man who suffers terribly from the depression part of bipolar and is only being treated with antidepressants which sometimes works and sometimes not.

Anyways, he was upfront with me about this from the get go so I knew or thought I knew what I was in for. The last two years have been a major ride...But I would do it again cuz I am madly in love with him. This man either isolates himself from the world for a week at a time or has periods of ok moods or he goes out and doesn't come home (going out and getting drunk....Alot)...

My issue is.....We had plans to move out, I bought a condo...We both were very excited about this, one minute we were picking out paint color and the next minute (one week later) he breaks up with me......He says that it scared him and he doesn’t love me anymore and wants to end it....He says he loves being alone and on his own terms. He has been on a extreme high the last couple of weeks....Maybe longer....I thought this was the next step ahead in our relationship not the end.......

I am stunned, we have been through alot in this relationship and I felt that the love was always there???? Can anyone relate to this or give me some insight....

Hi, i'm exactly in the same situation like you, my bf is bipolar ii, he can be so romantic in the morning and telling me that he wants to break up with me in the night :( this is a normal mood swing, I used to escape when he's telling me this, and being apart for a while until he gets good again.
If you need any help just email me or send me here :)
best wishes

I find myself in a relationship with a bipolar man and at least I can see from this that his behavior is typical. I am glad that I have found you because people are suggesting to me that I should get out of the relationship before it becomes really serious - but I really care. It has also been suggested to me that my behavior is co-dependent and that I think I can fix this person. I don't think I think that I can fix him - but I think I might be able to offer a little comfort. But from what you all say - it is important to let the bipolar person have their space. So. I'm listening . Thanks.
