Nausea, Vomiting, Right Upper Quad Pain, Weight Loss Posted: 05-08-05 16:24pm
I hope someone can shed some light on this
subject: I have been dealing with
intermittent nausea, vomiting and right
upper quad pain with over a 21 pound
weight loss since late january of 2005.
My ultrasound of my abdomen and
gallbladder are normal, the cat scan of my
abdomen is normal. I had a gallbladder
function study done and my ef is 81%-
normal. I don't have gall stones, no
wall thickening noted no sludge in my
gallbladder but I continue to have
horrible pain in my right upper quadrant
after I eat. I have lost track of
exactly what foods start this process but
I can say that jello, gatorade ice chips
and some other clear foods stay down. I
have been admitted to the hospital
multiple times since the start of this
because sometimes when I start vomiting I
don't stop and end up with my electrolytes
off and dehydrated. I am seeing a gi
specialist and he is questioning my
gallbladder; what else could be wrong with
my gallbladder.....My next test is a
stomache emptying study..You eat egg salad
with contrast (like that is going to stay
down..Haha) and then a neuclear med
machine watches your stomache and how it
emptys.. Has anyone had something
similar to this????

Have you been checked for diabetes or
thyroid disease?
