I Am Freaking Out, Please Read

Yesterday I woke up with sores all over my gums. The lymph nodes below my jaw were also swollen. I went to doc today and she said it's hand foot and mouth disease. I looked it up on the internet and it said usually only kids under 5 get this. Also, I don't have spots on my hands or feet. Please help!

Sounds like a job for your doc...Surely your doc gave ya more advice than that?

No idea how it would be solved.

Speak with your gp again.

My friend has this from time to time. My father is also a dentist. It could be a case of oral herpes depending on where these sores are in your mouth. Everyone usually has the strain of oral herpes in their body (ex. Cold sores) however, you sound like your having an outbreak. Seek doc. Advice.

About once a year I get sores around my gums and sometimes it spreads to the roof of my mouth and will last for couple weeks.

Over the weekend, I took some of my valtrex, that I use for cold sore outbreaks and it's almost gone today. Still a little sore around the tooth and upper right side of my mouth, but much better.
