Q: Very Confused And Frustrated...

Hi all! This is my first pregnancy, or at least I hope it is. I have had 4 positive hpts and had a blood test at the doctor on monday. The doctor called yesterday with the results and said they want to do another blood test next week. She mentioned the hormone levels were real low and she thinks: it's too early in the pregnancy or i'm having a chemical pregnancy. I have had a little bit of clotting and brownish stuff on the toilet paper, but i'm so confused. I don't know what to think! I think af should have started 5/4, but i'm not absolutely sure. I have also been bloated and a bit gassy and that's it. Has anyone else dealt with something like this or what do you all think?

Maybe you are just early in your pregnacy like the doctor said. But you shouldnt have brown clotted blood while you are pregnant, you might be loosing the baby.

I think i'm early in my pregnancy after talking to some other people, but the clotting only lasted a couple of days and it was equivalent to half a dime. Now I just have a little bit of brown discharge. Could this be implantation bleeding?

Maeree

i've known several people to spot a brownish colored blood/discharge during pregnancy. It's really not uncommon. Brown blood means that it is old and could be implantation bleeding. When I was pregnant the Dr. Told me not to be concerned unless it was bright red bleeding. I had both brown and bright red bleeding off and on for the first 13 weeks of my pregnancy and now I have a happy, healthy little boy.

With your hormone level low you could just be very early into the pregnancy.

Try not to worry to much, stress is hard on your body...(although I know it's impossible not to worry)

just try to relax and take it easy until your next blood test.

You are definatly in my thoughts and I wish you the best!!

Mom2trevor, thanks so much for the reassurance. I have another blood test today at 1, so we'll see what the results are.

Thanks mom2trevor, it feels good to know everything's fine so far. This is my first pregnancy, so i'm naturally scared of harming the baby in any way.

I understand how you feel. I was the same way. I was afraid to move because I was scared I would hurt the baby....You will start to relax after a while and it won't be as scary but it's still a lot of worry...I'm just glad things are okay :) do you know how far along you are? Or when you are due?

Take care,

Very Confused And Frustrated...
Hey maeree, how are you doing?

Potential treatments include vitamin b6 (at least 50mg a day), progesterone cream, and baby asprin. Be sure to discuss potential treatments with your doctor.

A chemical pregnancy is the clinical term used for a very early miscarriage. With the ultra sensitive pregnancy tests on the market today, it is easier than ever to get a positive result 3 or 4 days before your period is due.

Most chemical pregnancies are due to chromosomal problems in the developing fetus. Other possible causes are inadequate uterine lining, uterine abnormalities both congenital or acquired like fibroids, low hormone levels, luteal phase defect or certain infections.

Most chemical pregnancies can not be prevented. Early testing shows chemical pregnancies which would not have been detected had the woman waited for her period to arrive.

Best wishes,
