What Are the Long Term Side Effects From the Depo Shot? Posted: 05-11-05 15:32pm
I have been on the shot for a few years
now, and really don't have any complaints
(other than the weight gain). I want to
know if there are any long term side
effects that I should be aware of.

I've developed migraine headaches i've
never had before.
I've read a few articles now saying that
depo causes bone density loss.

The fda has issued a "black box" warning
on depo. I have taken it for six years
and have experienced a few side effects--i
have been off depo and all birth control
for 1 year and 7 months. The warning is
below. I would suggest looking into
other forms of birth control and getting
off depo.

long-term use of depo-provera
contraceptive injection
