I am a 34 year old, mother with four sons
and a very busy husband. Looking for a
pal to chat with about life in general.-
I used to be a busy body who went out and
socialized. Now I am at home---because
I choose to--but I have absolutely no
friends. Help? I don't mean to sound
pathetic--i am truly just looking for a
friend to talk to every once in a while.

Here's a suggestion: the fodors.Com travel
talk site. There's something about this
place. Go to the europe or u.S. Board
and read a while, then post a response or
a topic of your own. You'll find yourself
hooked into a vibrant community of smart
people who have been all over the place
and will soon accept you as one of their
own. A woman who is now in remission from
leukemia recently posted the news of her
improving health and got something like 50
replies from people who knew her through
her posts and wished her godspeed. Pretty
amazing.
