I just moved back from ga at the beginning
of october. I have been taking lo/ovral
for about 6 years now...And during my move
I lost my pills . My last cycle
was 10/2-10/4 and I was suppose to start
on the 29th but it never came. I have
taken a pregnancy test and it came out
neg, but i'm still unable to obtain my
pills so I have missed a month as of right
now. What are my chances of being
pregnant and when will I know? Yes I
have been having unprotected sex. Please
help.

Hi baby,
as long as you have been having
unprotected sex without birth control,
then you are at risk of becoming pregnant.
You are at risk even if you have missed
one pill let alone a whole month. If you
took a test and the result was negative,
then chances are you are not pregnant, as
it's been a little over a month since your
last period, therefore enough time has
passed to allow hcg levels to build up (if
you were pregnant). The fact that your
body has relied on the pill for 6 years to
regulate your period, it is probably going
to take a little while to adjust back to a
regular pattern, so don't panic if you are
late for a period. In the meantime if you
are still worried, you could request a
blood test from your doctor and if the
result is negative, start another course
of birth control pills.
Good luck baby,
suzy

Thanks for your advice. What should I
do if my period doesn't come by the first
week of dec. Since it is technically due
thanksgiving? Which would mean that I
wouldn't have had a period for almost 2
months.

The same exact thing happened to me when I
moved earlier this year. My doc said my
period should still be regular even though
I had stopped taking my pills, but it
didn't come for about 3 months. Good luck
and just to be safe I would buy an hpt!
