I'm 16 years old and have had no sexual
experience whatsoever. The other day,
in the tub, I noticed that I have bumps
all over my labia minora. They are very
small, about the size of pin heads, and
they look like white heads. They do not
hurt unless I try to pop them.
My problem is that my mother is not a very
open, caring person and i'm terrified at
the thought of telling her. We do not
have a doctor who regularly treats my
family. I'm worried that I have genital
warts, or genital herpes, but don't know
how I could have gotten this because I
haven't been exposed! Do they sound
like herpes?

Hey I am a virgin too and I totally
understand you when you say you cant tell
ur mom. My moms caring and all but when
it comes to health related stuff I just
absolutely cant tell her. Anyways I
think I have those too except mine are all
over the slimy parts lol. I dont know
what they are but they seem to be
progressing. Go to google and type
grain-de-fordyce in the image search
(thats some french word I think lol idk
how I found it but thank god I did). Is
the genital one what urs looks like? It
is basically what mine looks like. I
think what we have is fordyces disease but
I cant be sure. You dont have to treat
it or anything. I hope its what I have.

Grain-de-fordyce is an enlargement of
sebaceous glands and it looks nearly
exactly like what I have. I hope that's
what it is, even though it is ugly :(.
I'm still worried though, because there
was a genital herpes outbreak in my school
and we were told that it was spread
through contact with the desk chairs. I
worry that I may have inadvertently given
myself herpes by not washing my hands or
something.

Yes its rather ugly lol. But yea it
looks like what I have too... Idk if I
have herpes, but I know herpes are like
coldsores on ur genitals that turn into
blisters then pop then go away.
earlier this morning I tried to look it
up online and had found some information,
but from what i'd heard blocked sebaceous
glands were large. Turns out they can
be small too, thank god.
(well the site isn't working, but if you
look up "sebaceous + genitals" the first
website that comes up on google is it)

Thanks! That is reassuring, although I
doubt mine will clear up. Sorry if I sent
another post like this, my compuer is
acting up. Anyways, herpes is like cold
sores that turn to blisters, then pop and
disappear. I dont think it is what we
have.

Herpes cannot be spread from sitting on
desk chairs. It's spread through direct
skin to skin contact.

Thank you. I recently found out that
what I have are "pearly papules" which are
harmless and due to hormones. Apparently
most teenagers get them.

Well... On the first entry you had
mentioned that you were not sexually
active.. I think I may be older than you
and in my many years of experience the
only way to get an std like warts or
herpes is through skin to skin contact...
Maybe oral sex? Are you sexually active
if not you are being paronoid and need to
see a doctor to confirm what they are or
are not.

Ps.. It could also be caused by shaving
the area ... If you do

Herpes hurt! Herpe sores are useally very
tender to the touch, guys get what you
have too and it comes useally with new
hair growth. Popping them if they get
large is ok but if you pop a bunch of
small ones you may end up with it being
hurtful when you walk. This is what my
wife did when she was young and she
learned quickly not to worry about them
and they went away as she got older.
Apparently sometimes it's caused by
hormone changes.
